Africa
More than a billion people inhabit the continent of Africa, representing one-third of the world’s languages. Millions of people still don’t have God’s Word in their heart language!
Just when it seems like tribal wars, disease, or even terrorism will threaten the spread of God’s Word across this vast continent, the miraculous happens . . .
Rival tribes stop fighting so they can partner together on Church Owned Bible Translation projects, outcast communities once told they were useless are seeing their true worth and identity in Christ, and the power of the Word of God breaks into terrorist-held regions, bringing encouragement and strength to believers living under persecution.
God’s Word is transforming hearts in Africa, and the seeds of the gospel are bringing forth fruit!
National Bible translators and local churches are passionate about putting Scripture in the hands of their communities . . . in a language they can understand.
And as the word spreads about making Bible translation a reality, the demand is skyrocketing!
A Personal Testimony: John
Lost Boy Found
I can remember the day I was told I either had to become a soldier or they would kill me. I was just a boy . . . but I didn’t want to die. I became a lost boy forced into fighting in a civil war I wasn’t even old enough to understand.
The next few years were filled with murder, drugs, and many other unspeakable things I did to try to fill an emptiness inside of me.
After I was finally returned to my village, and I worked through the trauma of my childhood, a friend of mine invited me to attend a Bible school with him. I didn’t have anything to lose, so I said “yes.”
What I didn’t know was that I was about to come face to face with the only thing that could fill the void I had felt in my life since I was a little boy. Studying God’s Word transformed me as I gave my life to Jesus! I stand forgiven because of the grace and mercy of my Savior.
Now I am a pastor in South Sudan, and I am working on translating the Bible into the Lopit language. We are getting so close . . . sometimes we won’t even stop to eat a meal. The translation is so sweet in our mother tongue we are filled with excitement and joy!

The Challenge: To reach every people group in Africa with God’s Word, breaking the chains of spiritual bondage.
“Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.”
Hosea 10:12 (NIV)
