Wycliffe Associates Welcomes President/CEO Simoun Ung

June 30, 2021 | Orlando, Florida

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Simoun Ung as the next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wycliffe Associates, Inc., effective July 1, 2021.

Simoun lives in Makati City, Philippines with his wife Rebecca and two daughters.  He comes from a lineage of evangelists from Fujian Province, China.  Like his ancestors, Simoun highly values the ability to read Scriptures. As a boy, Simoun accepted the Lord as his Savior and was baptized in the Evangelical Chinese Baptist Church in Vancouver, Canada, where he lived until moving back to the Philippines over twenty years ago. Here Simoun serves as an elder, deacon and worship leader of Grace Christian Church. He is well respected as a leader in the financial industry as well as an international entrepreneur in the Asia Pacific.   Among many business pursuits, Simoun is the CEO of OmniPay, Inc., the Philippine’s leading issuer of prepaid payment cards.

Participating in missions and the Great Commission is woven in Simoun’s faith journey.  In 2007, Simoun served as the founding Chairman of Wycliffe Bible Translators Philippines. He joined the board of Trustees of World Vision Philippines in 2017.  The next year he joined the Board of Trustees of Wycliffe Associates, headquartered in Orlando, Florida.  Simoun is also a corporate member of the Far East Broadcasting Company in the Philippines.  He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Biblical Seminary of the Philippines.

Since his teens, Simoun has endeavored to live his life guided by Proverbs 3:5-6

     Trust in the LORD with all your heart,

     And lean not on your own understanding;

     In all your ways acknowledge Him,

     And He shall direct your paths.

A faithful witness consists of actions rather than eloquent words alone.  His prayer is that others see Jesus in him and that God is glorified in all that he does:

     If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God

     supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ,

     to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever.

     (I Peter 4:11)

Simoun is not ashamed of his faith and desires to influence others to look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

The Board of Trustees expresses deep appreciation to Dr. Timothy F. Neu for his capable leadership as Interim President and CEO.  Tim will serve as Chief Operating Officer of the ministry.  May God continue to use Wycliffe Associates that men from every nation, tribe and tongue proclaim the salvation of the Lamb, to the glory of God the Father.
