Wycliffe Associates names Stephen E. Martin as the next President and Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Reverend Stephen (Steve) E. Martin as the next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wycliffe Associates, Inc., effective September 20, 2025. Prior to that date Simoun Ung, President/CEO and Steve Martin will collaborate to ensure a smooth transition of leadership responsibilities. Mr. Martin previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at Wycliffe Associates.

Steve joined Wycliffe Associates in 2006 and has served in leadership roles in several divisions, including marketing, recruiting and operations. Steve served as the Pacific Area Director, where he provided oversight of 38 countries. As the Director of Events, Steve supervised more than 300 fundraising events annually and the recruitment of more than 2,000 volunteers. Most recently Steve served as Vice-President of Field Development and then as Chief Operating Officer where he advanced the innovation and expansion of Church Owned Bible Translation (COBT) at home and abroad. Prior to joining Wycliffe Associates, Steve enjoyed productive careers as a pastor, counselor and police chaplain.

Steve and Sonya have been married for 46 years and have two daughters. The Board of Trustees expresses deep appreciation to Simoun Ung for his capable leadership as President/CEO since July 1, 2021. Through his commitment to Bible Translation, his caring leadership and his role as an ambassador on behalf of Wycliffe Associates, Simoun has made a significant impact upon our ministry. Although Simoun is retiring from his position as President/CEO of Wycliffe Associates, the Board is confident that he shall continue productive work for the Lord in many ministries of global influence.

The Board praises God for both Simoun and Steve and for their devotion to “tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.” (Psalm 96:3)
