Generally: Wycliffe Associates is a ministry, and our mission of Bible translation is a special calling. Wycliffe Associates trains Christians all over the world to become Bible translators and we seek to safeguard the integrity of the Scriptures through that process. While specific skills and experience are a major part of this role, what is most important to Wycliffe Associates, and to the Lord, is a person’s heart. The person who fills this role should have a special calling from the Lord for ministry. In this role you are considered a minister of the gospel. Position summary: The Accountant will collaborate with the Controller to ensure that all procedures are efficient, effective, and compliant with applicable standards and regulations.
Job responsibilities:
- Responsible for all accounting activities; accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, reconciliation, deposits, month/year end closing, list of fixed assets, and reporting
- Manages cash accounts, including monitoring bank accounts, investment accounts, movement of funds as needed, and oversight of bank reconciliation
- Maintains balance sheet accounts
- Prepares, reviews, and approves journal entries
- Manages a petty cash drawer
- Creates and maintains project accounts
- Manage grant agreement process
- Participate in preparing the annual budget
- Participate in the annual audit
- Other duties as assigned by the Controller
Education, prior work experience, and/or specialized skills and knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 2 years’ experience in accounting
- Managerial experience desirable
- Experience working in non-profit organizations desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload
- Experience in computer-based accounting software
- Experience with Microsoft Office products is a must

- Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Has signed an acceptance and acknowledgment of the Wycliffe Associates statement of faith and doctrinal statements
- Should sense a call from God to the ministry of Wycliffe Associates
- Active membership and regular attendance at a Bible-believing church
- Ability to be at ease with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Continual focus on supporting positive relationships; treating people with dignity, respect, integrity, and compassion
- Highly self-motivated, flexible and directed
- Works independently with little or no supervision
- To recognize and maintain confidentiality of information as appropriate
- Regular, timely attendance
